Continued Success for Moorgate Pair

Following their successes at the Sheffield and District Junior Tournament, Josh Bows and Emily Busby went hunting more tournament success. First 16-year old Josh got the ball rolling at the 2019 Grade 4 Abbeydale Summer Open, where he took part in the Open Men's Singles.

After a comfortable quarter final win against an opponent from Cheshire, he was made to work harder in the semi final against an opponent from Nottinghamshire, before sealing a straight sets win and a place in the final.

His final opponent from Derbyshire, proved a tough nut to crack. Despite Josh running away with the first set, the match was eventually settled in favour of Josh, with a tight 10-7 win in the championship tie break.

Emily then took part in the 16-and-Under Girls Singles event, at the Grade 4 Chapel Allerton Summer Open. Her toughest match came in the quarter final, against the number two seed from Cheshire. She then went on to beat her semi final opponent from Durham/Cleveland without dropping a game.

In the final she faced a fellow Yorkshire player (who had knocked out the number one seed) and won comfortably for the loss of just one game.
