Sporting Gesture Rewarded with Cup Final Win

In the Works League Cup Final, Moorgate B faced old rivals Welbeck and were entitled to a 15 point start in every game, due to the handicap system used in the competition. However, the team decided that they wanted to win or lose on an equal footing, which resulted in a classic match.

The first round of games saw a tight defeat for Rob Wood and Adam Price; whilst Mark and Emily Busby were involved in a mammoth first set - saving several set points. This would prove pivotal, as they then won the set; before taking the match in the second set.

This left the team with a slight advantage going into the second round of matches. With Mark and Emily losing their first set, it was left to Rob and Adam to balance things up by winning a tight first set, before running away with the second set; leaving the team on the brink of victory,

Despite losing their second set, Mark and Emily took enough games to confirm victory for their team on games count back.
