Another Finals' Day is behind us at ELTC and what a good day it was. We were very fortunate with the weather, which meant that ALL the matches could be played on the grass courts for the last time.
We had more entries than ever before and some very close-fought matches. Very many thanks to all the entrants for endeavouring to get the matches played on time.
I think that Sunday's finalists had certainly been getting inspiration from Wimbledon, judging by the quality of the play. We also enjoyed an excellent BBQ and afternoon tea, despite the kitchen stove blowing up the day before!
Very many thanks to all the many volunteers, who provided cheerful help and delicious salads, desserts and cakes. ELTC is a members' club, which is run by volunteers, so such help is always needed and gratefully received.
Please note that the ELTC Finals' Day will be one week earlier next year, i.e. on SUNDAY 1ST JULY 2018. PLEASE MAKE A NOTE OF THIS IN YOUR DIARIES.
