Over the weekend of 30 April/1 May 2022 the Avon U14 Boys' team won the LTA County Cup Qualifying Event hosted by Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club.  Throughout the competition, the Avon team played consistently well and were deserving winners.  

Taking part in the event were U14 teams from Wiltshire, Somerset, Devon, the Channel Islands, Conrwall and eventual winners, Avon.  Under bright sunshine play on Saturday was of the highest standard. With the forecast for Sunday being wet, referee Alison Jackson allowed play to continue into Saturday evening.   Sunday was marred by light rain, but this did nothing to dampen the spirit and skill of the players.  Devon were runners up over the weekend and showed their skills to full effect. 

The high standard of tennis was matched by the excellent behaviour and attitude of all players.  Hosting the event is a priviledge for Royal Wootton Bassett Tennis Club, and we look forward to more events in future.
