WTC Court Project Announcement!

Writtle Tennis Club committee are extremely pleased to announce exciting news about our long-awaited court project! We are so proud to be able to continue with this exciting project having gone through very uncertain times.

So, let us tell you what will happen:

When will it start and how long for?

Monday 6th July works begin!

The project will take approximately 8-10 weeks. We are looking to be back on our brand-new courts early/mid-September.

So where will we play tennis and WTA coaching take place?

We have secured sole use of Writtle College tennis courts for the entire project.  They have 4 hard court tennis, like ours, and whatever operational procedures that will be in place will just be transferred. They have given us an excellent deal and we are aiming to develop a beneficial partnership with them.

We will, of course, provide you with the appropriate information nearer to the time.

Who is doing it?

The main contractor is ETC Sports Surfaces ltd.  There are also other contractors contributing to overall project.

We would like your input!

What court colours shall we pick?

The overall decision will be decided by an online club vote. Every single member will get a vote. The most popular colour choice wins!
Adults and juniors (parents please ask your children) to send over any images of court colours you have seen or found online that you think are cool! The options are unlimited.

Also, if you have any ideas on how we can say goodbye to our current courts please let us know. Of course, we would have wanted to have held an event but during the current measures in place we unfortunately cannot.

Finally, the committee would like to pass on our sincere gratitude to all of our dedicated members, adult and junior.  Without you all we wouldn't have been able to do this, therefore we thank you for your continuing patience and flexibility during this project.  The result will be worth it!
