Members Update December 2016

ATC MEMBER’S UPDATE - DECEMBER 2016

Free Membership Promotion

To celebrate the quite stunning fact that our very own Andy Murray is ending the year as Men’s World Number One, we are once again holding a prize Membership Draw to encourage more people to play the sport in our village.  We are offering one FREE and two half-price annual memberships.  Please share the poster attached to this email with families, friends, social networks and anyone local you know who may be interested.

New Year Tournament & Prize Giving – Sunday 8th January 2-5pm

Kick off 2017 with some relaxed, friendly tennis!  We will run it as a doubles handicap timed tournament.  Please put it on your calendar and we’ll ask for numbers nearer the time.

Wimbledon Ballot

A couple of months ago, every member should have received an email from the LTA inviting them to opt in to the Wimbledon ticket ballot. To maximise the club's ticket allocation we would urge everyone to opt in (even if you have no intention of going to Wimbledon). We will shortly be issuing step by step instructions on how to do this, for anyone who is unsure, and bringing you news of an additional prize draw for those of you who selflessly opt in, even though you don't want to go to Wimbledon. We always have many more club members keen to go to Wimbledon than our ticket allocation allows, so the more members who opt in, the fewer will be disappointed!

Junior Winter Coaching

Vincent is trying something slightly different this year, and running a selection of Junior classes in December, January and early February. They start week beginning 5th December and parents can book online on a weekly basis, making cancellations due to weather simpler.

SGM minutes

A copy of these will shortly be on the club noticeboard.

Website Development

We’re grateful to two members, Stephen Gaul and Fiona Graham, who along with Vincent have been looking into making improvements to the ATC website. A key aim was to allow memberships to be renewed online and ultimately making subs payments online, which some members are keen to see. Fiona and Stephen now need willing guinea pigs who will try out the system for them.  Please email Fiona Graham on fjcgraham@yahoo.com if you don’t mind helping.

And finally….

The Lost Property Mountain is growing again!

You have until the end of January to collect any item and then anything left over will be given to charity.
