Acle A Match Result
Date: Sunday 22nd October
Opponents: Lowestoft
Location: In the Sea or thereabouts!!
Acle A followed up their winning start to the season with a commendable draw against a dogged Lowestoft side. In somewhat windy conditions, Acle A were 3-1 down after the mixed matches but fought back in style, squaring the match up at 3-3 before the rain set in for the day. Damian and Hugo secured their opening set in the mens doubles and Sabine and Sarah battled well to take the first set of their ladies match. Damian and Sarah had earlier halved their mixed match in the first round. Next up are Diss, which will be another hard test.
Division 1 Acle A Match Result
Date: Sunday 5th November
Opponents: Diss
Location: Acle
Acle A entertained title rivals Diss and came out on top with a 6-2 win. The mixed pairings of Damian and Ann and Sophie and Andrew quickly established a 4-0 lead at the half way stage for the loss of only 5 games between them.
However, Diss fought back in the second round of matches, taking both sets in a keenly fought ladies match. Diss men on the other court promptly sailed to a 3-0 lead with two services breaks but Acle managed to retrieve the situation, eventually winning the the decisive first set and then taking full control of the second set.
Next up are East Anglia B which could prove to be a tough match.
Cricket Ball Incident Form
Although the cricket season is over for this year, it has come to the committee’s attention that the club needs to keep a record of any incidents that may occur in the future. As a result an incident form has been put up in the pavilion. Please can all members fill this in if they happen to be playing when a cricket ball comes on to the courts, whether there an injury occurs or not. Thank you.

CALLING ALL MEMBERS***VERY IMPORTANT***Wimbledon 2018*** Are you a British Tennis Member?
Have you joined Acle Tennis Club this year? Would you like the chance to get tickets for Wimbledon 2018, one of the greatest Tennis Events of the year?
As a LTA registered venue we are able to obtain pairs of tickets and hold a ballot for everyone who has a British Tennis Membership number. You can join for FREE.
Just log onto the LTA website (lta.org.uk), click on British Tennis Membership, choose 'lite' or Team (£20) and fill in your details.
Once you have your number you must add Acle Tennis Club as Your Venue to play. Full details of the benefit of team membership is on the website.

If you are already registered please OPT in for this year. The LTA have been sending out emails with a very easy link.

Saturday Social Tennis
Alex Yorkston is taking over from Simon in the running of Saturday Social for a couple of weeks. If there are not enough people turning up then it will stop.
Saturday Social is on from 2-4pm! Cost £1! No Need to Book!
Membership Fees for late joiners
The committee has decided that for members who join the club from 1st October will pay a reduced fee of £40 (including the £7 fee to the Acle Rec Centre). This membership will run until 31st March when annual memberships are renewable.
Acle Recreation Membership Card
If members would like an Acle Recreation membership card they are available from Sabine Darter and Ann Nichols, who are regularly at the club but can be contacted at sabine@ledshamdarter.co.uk or ann.nicholls46@btinternet.com to arrange a pick up point.

All sessions open to all ages and abilities. No need to book a place just turn up, pay and play. These are friendly relaxed groups, offering the chance to have fun while getting fit at the same time. We would love to see more members playing on a regular basis. Sessions often end with a well- earned drink in the social club.

Other Bits & Bobs
▪Don't forget that you can buy new balls from the club. Please call Mike Lake on 01493750337 or see Ann Nicholls down at the courts.
▪Money in the safe: could all members please put a note with any money put into the safe detailing who the money is from and what it is for. Please also make sure the club room door locks properly when you leave.
▪Members with a guest: Reminder for members who attend the courts with a guest to kindly put the names on the form pinned to the Club Room wall and put a note with the payment before depositing it in the safe. There are pens, paper and bags provided.
