Division 1 Acle A Match Result
Date: Sunday 21st January 2018
Opponents: East Anglia A
Location: Easton
Another strong performance form Acle A produced a welcome victory by 6 sets to 2 over a feisty East Anglia A team. Damian and Ann produced a dominant display in the first round, winning comfortably 6-2 6-1. Sophie and Hugo drew their opener in two closely contested sets. Hugo and Damian were then taken all the way in their match, coming back from a set down to take the second set on a tie-break. Sophie and Ann produced a composed performance in their match taking both sets.
Overall, another great result with everything to play for against Diss in the next match.

Annual Dinner
Acle Tennis Club’s annual dinner will be held on Friday 9th March at The Boathouse in Ormesby at 7pm. Please see the following email for more information and to book your place.
Last year’s annual dinner was a huge success with there being such a great turnout from both juniors and adult members. We hope this years will be the same!
Wimbledon 2018
Mon 2nd July- Sun 15th July
The Acle Tennis Club Wimbledon Ballot is now open to all members aged 11 and over and to enter please provide the following information to Liz Lake - secretary@acletennisclub.org.uk. The LTA rules will be displayed in the pavilion.
1, Opt in on the LTA website (instructions are in the Weekly Update)
2, Email Liz with your name, BTM number and phone number.
3, Specify any dates you cannot go.
We shall hold the ballot at the club in early April details to follow.
Cromer Ladies Double Tournament - Thursday 28th June
Dear Ladies,
You are invited to Cromer to enter the Ladies’ Open Grass Court Doubles Tournament to be held on the grass courts on Thursday 28th June.
The tournament will start at 10.00 with a lunch at 13.00 and the semi-finals and finals taking place thereafter.
Applications are welcomed on a first-come basis. There will be acknowledgement of your entry by email. The tournament entry was full within 2 weeks of opening in 2017 so please enter quickly if you would like to play.
If you would like an entry form please email Liz Lake at secretary@acletennisclub.org.uk who can send you the full application form.
The tournament includes buffet lunch and coffee, is £35 per pair and entries must be in by 21st June.
CALLING ALL MEMBERS***VERY IMPORTANT***Wimbledon 2018*** Are you a British Tennis Member?
Have you joined Acle Tennis Club this year? Would you like the chance to get tickets for Wimbledon 2018, one of the greatest Tennis Events of the year?
As a LTA registered venue we are able to obtain pairs of tickets and hold a ballot for everyone who has a British Tennis Membership number. You can join for FREE.
Just log onto the LTA website (lta.org.uk), click on British Tennis Membership, choose 'lite' or Team (£20) and fill in your details.
Once you have your number you must add Acle Tennis Club as Your Venue to play. Full details of the benefit of team membership is on the website.

If you are already registered please OPT in for this year. The LTA have been sending out emails with a very easy link.

All sessions open to all ages and abilities. No need to book a place just turn up, pay and play. These are friendly relaxed groups, offering the chance to have fun while getting fit at the same time. We would love to see more members playing on a regular basis. Sessions often end with a well- earned drink in the social club.

If members would like an Acle Recreation membership card they are available from Sabine Darter and Ann Nichols, who are regularly at the club but can be contacted at sabine@ledshamdarter.co.uk or ann.nicholls46@btinternet.com to arrange a pick up point.

Other Bits & Bobs
▪Don't forget that you can buy new balls from the club. Please call Mike Lake on 01493750337 or see Ann Nicholls down at the courts.
▪Money in the safe: could all members please put a note with any money put into the safe detailing who the money is from and what it is for. Please also make sure the club room door locks properly when you leave.
▪Members with a guest: Reminder for members who attend the courts with a guest to kindly put the names on the form pinned to the Club Room wall and put a note with the payment before depositing it in the safe. There are pens, paper and bags provided.
