Doubles is Back

I am delighted to confirm that restrictions in relation to tennis have been further relaxed to include doubles plays, subject to strict compliance with the following social distancing rules:

1) The Clubhouse and Indoor Court remain closed – Club coach and Committee only are permitted in the Clubhouse.

2) All courts must be booked - there is a booking system on the website that members can access once they have logged in. You must book your court before going to the club. Coaching has priority on No1 court. Please book No2 and No3 courts first. No1 court bookings may be moved to an alternative court if necessary.

3) 15 minutes between bookings. The booking slots are 75 minutes each. This is to allow a 15-minute changeover for departing players to leave the club before the next players arrive. You must stop play after 60 minutes

4) Staggered start times. There is a 5-minute staggered start (and finish) time for each court.

  • No1 court – your start time = exact booking time.
  • No2 court – your start time = booking time + 5mins
  • No3 court – your start time = booking time + 10mins

5) Max 4 players per court. No spectators are allowed, except for a parent if they are supervising their child.

6) Maintain 2m distance at all times

  • do not shake hands
  • do not leave the court together
  • Wait behind white distance markings where indicated

7) Wash it, catch it, bin it – hand gel is provided at each court and there is an outdoor wash station.

8) Use your own equipment do not touch equipment belonging to other members.

9) Do not attend the club if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus, including:

  • If you have any symptoms of Coronavirus or are not feeling well
  • If you or any of your household are self-isolating or shielding

10) Individual coaching resumes in accordance with LTA guidance. Please contact Ian to arrange sessions.

11) The Junior Programme and Club sessions remain suspended but will be reviewed this week.

Please note that this decision is under constant review and may be reversed if there is poor compliance with these restrictions or an increase in cases.
