Adult and Junior Tennis Camps

I run tennis camps at the fantastic venue Barn Elms Sports Centre which has recently been refurbished with new cafe area and seating. This superb centre boasts 6 AstroTurf all weather courts and 11 all-weather hard courts, making it one of the best and most revered in London for all levels.

Also keep your eyes peeled out there, as stars of the tennis world Sir Andrew Murray and Heather Watson are regularly down here training on the beach volleyball courts before hitting tennis balls!

We run tennis camps that work on technique improvement and also raising the junior standard. Technique is just as important for a mini tennis player aged 5 as it is to a player aged 15 and above. But better to start them early! If a junior can play the game, serve and rally well then they will enjoy tennis and set them up for the future.

The tennis camp attracts players from regional/national standard to juniors who are wanting to learn the game, have fun and hopefully keep improving. I cater for all levels. For new players to the camps I can also recommend which group lessons term time would suit them also. Please note/read the AHTennis level guide below for how we group our tennis camps.

Through the day and week we work on the areas of:

Technical  -  Stroke production, grips, stances swing shapes, spins, etc

Tactical - How to go about the game in both singles and doubles. From the simple advice in mini tennis of hitting  the ball one side of the court to the other to then create a space to hit into. And to the advanced junior who is a regular tournament player of analysing your opponents strenghts and weaknesses and setting up patterns of play. Tennis is not only a game of technique and power, it's a game of chess.

Mental - Maybe the most imporatnt part of tennis at the intermediate to higher levels/regional players. Everybody is different, so a coach's approach to different players should be exactly the same. Some youngsters may have a little doubt, some may have a little anger, some may struggle with control. We analyse every skill set and mind set and improve on that.

Physical  - The players on the camp can also be challenged with improving their fitness if they wish, without pressure. We can encourage them to push themselves and try to show them increased potential. We will then work togther throughout the week on personnal goals.

Each day will have a new theme to mix things up, improve your skills and keep tennis the exciting game it is...

The camp operates a fair play and team orientated behaviour policy. Any bad behaviour will not be tolerated, and we would also turn away John McEnroe for poor behaviour... ;-)

All players will  be grouped together with players of similar standard, but also have the chance to challenge each other as the week continues.

I am happy for the older children to make there own way home at no extra charge with parental permission.

Please contact me directly for any questions.

Look out for special camp weeks and weekends such as Junior Advanced/Elite Group and Adult Intensive Weekend Camps.
