At the Annual General Meeting on Friday 4 February 2022 Barbara Wilkinson completed her final duties as Club Chair.  After serving as Deputy- Chair and then Chair for an amazing 15 years Barbara has handed over the runnning of the club to Nathan Glynn and John Montague who will act as Joint- Chairs.  

Barbara's vision, drive and tenacity led to the long-planned replacement of the tennis courts, plus the additional of facilities for netball in 2012/13 . She also worked closely with Anna Fryer on replacement of the clubhouse in 2019/2020 with the addition of welcome  kitchen and toilet facilities.  

Alongside the duties of Chair, Barbara has been captain of our tennis teams, including the current Mixed 3 team and run multiple social tennis sessions.

The club presented Barbara with a Lifetime Membership, a few gifts and a silver trophy which will be awarded annually in her name for the Most Improved Player in the club.  The latter is something that Barbara has championed and taken great delight in awarding every year.

The fact that Aston Park Tennis Club is thriving has a lot to do with the energy and enthusiasm of Barbara Wilkinson and we all have a lot to thank her for.
