Spring into action with a tennis tournament open to all at Attenborough

Attenborough Tennis Club is inviting players of all ages and abilities to welcome the first day
of spring by taking part in its latest social tournament on Saturday 21 March.
The social tournaments are one of a range of ways to enjoy tennis at the small friendly
village club, taking place on the third Saturday of every month. They are open to players of
all abilities and to members and non-members alike, with participants switching partners to
play with and against each other in a series of fun short matches on all four of the club’s
courts. Refreshments are available in the clubhouse at the end of the tournament.
Club co-chair Ioan Reed-Aspley said: “We introduced these social tournaments last year as
a fun way for anyone who fancies playing tennis to get a chance to do so with a whole range
of different people of all ages and abilities.
“They’ve proved really popular, with the emphasis on enjoyment rather than
competitiveness. We’re a friendly bunch at the club who will give any newcomers and non-
members a warm welcome and encouragement to take part. And what better way to
welcome the arrival of spring than with a fun game of tennis!”
The social tournament will take place on Saturday 21 March from 1.45pm - £2 for members
and £3 for non-members payable on the day.
There are many other playing options at Attenborough including pay-and-play sessions for
non-members, social tennis for adults and juniors, competitive tennis with four men’s teams,
three mixed teams and two ladies’ teams, along with coaching programmes. A range of
membership options are also available.
