Twelve teams of doubles pairs, with players of a whole range of abilities, are in the process of trying to amass as many points as possible before the end of the season to take the GS&S crown, and all in the name of fundraising. I’m delighted to be able to say the event so far has raised well over £200 for the club.

Rounds  1 & 2 saw some interesting games being played and produced some even more interesting results! Top of the leader board after two rounds, are Team Dropshots ( John Conquest and John Hall) taking the top spot with a total of 52 points. HOWEVER hot on their heels with 51 points, are Bodgit & Scarper ( Robbie Ollman and Sally Homfray-Davies....are we ever to be told who does the "bodgiting" and who "scarpers," in that team?!) Chasing their tails in 3rd place with 50 points are The ViPs –a mother and daughter partnership consisting of Sarah & Claudia Van Poortvliet. So as you can see there is the makings of a bit of a scrap going on at the top of the board.

Further down the board, us lesser mortals are all fairly evenly placed, but with the playing format as it is, with players swapping partners every 7 games, everything can change in a very short time! So watch out you leaders.... we are coming for you!
