Return to tennis

Hello to all members at Carrick,

I'm sure you are all aware that tennis is one of the first sports to be allowed to be resumed , hopefully in the next week. There are quite a lot of restrictions on play with the general guidance that has been issued by Tennis Scotland. This document is included below and I would ask you all to please read it so that we can operate as safely as possible.
We will update members with more details as soon as they become available. Meanwhile there is NO play allowed until an official start date is published.

The courts still need preparation before play can begin so we are looking for as many of you as possible to help out. The usual rolling and brushing is needed. John put weedkiller down about 2 weeks ago so hopefully that has helped.
Preparation must be done with all the social distancing rules and hygiene detail. I would suggest that only 1 person works on each court at any one time. The clubhouse is closed and no facilities eg. sink or toilets can be used so please bring your own anti bacterial spray and use it on padlocks etc and all equipment that you touch both before and after use. Gloves are also recommended.
To reduce extra touching of equipment it should be left outside the shed but hidden from view of the street. The main entrance gate should be padlocked. The gate onto courts1/2 should not be padlocked but please leave it shut though not bolted so it does not look open for people wandering along the street. The internal gate between courts can be left open.

To stop too many people turning up to help at one time I am happy if you could text me before you go and advise me what day you are going to help and whether it is morning ( before 1pm), afternoon (1-5pm )or evening (after 5pm).

It is unfortunate this season is not going to be tennis as we know it but anyone who wants to can at least get back on the court for some play with hopefully 5 months of play at Carrick. As this is an unprecedented situation we are having to make it up as we go along so please use common sense! Feel free to ask any questions and I'll try to find an answer.

Thanks to all the committee and other helpers!
Happy and safe tennis ( when it restarts)
