What can you expect?
At the Red stage, children practice to serve (with an overarm throw) rally, and learn to play points. Coaches will help children to develop adaptive skills, coordination, balance & speed. Through basic instruction, children continue to prepare for the game ahead.
Notes from the coach
Mini tennis red balls are used which are slower and lower bouncing. Plus we play across smaller courts with smaller rackets. This means children are able to rally amongst each other at a faster rate. Within the group children will have a 1:8 coach ratio and we split children into small groups in terms of ability. Please note we are no longer offering drop-in sessions - this is so we can get more continuity and quality in the sessions. For new children who would like to try out the session we can offer a one off session at £8. If you would like your child to continue you will need to book for the half term. All equipment is provided - toilets and changing facilities are available at the club.
