General Information 2024
Court Access
The courts are accessed by combination padlocks. The court code is issued in the confirmation email you will receive on booking a court. Clubhouse keys are available at copying cost from the Club Secretary. If you leave the Club, please return the key.
Court booking is Free of Charge for members and bookings must be made on the booking page of this website and may also be made via the LTA Booker app for your mobile phone or tablet. Download here: IOS or Android
Non-member access
A number of court bookings are available each day on Court 2 for Pay & Play at a cost of £6 per court per 30 minutes. These may be booked up to 7 days in advance. Members may bring guests to play with them at a fee of £3 per guest per 30 minutes by booking on the website (i.e. not the app) and adding participants to the booking as 'guests' and paying online at that point. Alternatively, payment for member guests can be transferred to the BLTC bank account: 23-05-80, 41582871.
Safeguarding
Note that the Club operates a Policy and Procedure for child safeguarding, summarised here. If you ever have any concerns about an event or behaviour that you have noticed at a club activity, it is incumbent upon you to report your concern immediately to the Welfare Officer, Andrea Peake or other appropriate person as described in the Procedure. Full details are available on our website and posted in the Clubhouse. Please follow this link to view our full Safeguarding Policy as well as our Equality and Diversity Policy. Safeguarding Policy
Clubhouse Security
The clubhouse and courts must be left locked at all times with lights, heaters and other electrical equipment switched off. If you are a parent/guardian who has provided a junior with a key to the clubhouse, remember that you remain responsible for ensuring that this is done.
Floodlights
Floodlight switch is located in a cabinet (under the defibrillator) on the east side of the courts. Padlock code is per the courts. Please ensure that the light is firmly switched off and the cabinet properly locked after play.
Club Rules
Please acquaint yourself with our Rules and Regulations, available in the drop down tabs above and summarised on notices. In particular, you must wear appropriate footwear and leave the premises secure.
Adult Social Play
There are four scheduled Open Sessions each week on Mondays at 18.30, Wednesdays at 10:00, and Sundays at 14.00, running all the year round. These are very informal and friendly, accommodating a range of standards. Places should be booked in advance if possible on the SPOND app and are also administered via WhatApp social group. Please contact Paul Wilson to be included in the group.
Private Play
For court availability please head to the booking tab on our website.
Adult Continuation Classes

Junior After School Classes
Pawel runs an extensive programme of Junior Classes during School Term Time from Sunday to Friday for a range of ages and standards. Details on Pawels Coaching Page.
Junior Holiday Camps
These will be running in the mornings for a variety of weeks during the Spring, Summer and Autumn holidays and will be advertised by newsletter and FaceBook. Bookings can be made on Pawel's Coaching Page. These sessions are open to non-members.
NESTLTA and Tennis Scotland
The Club is affiliated by subscription to both the District Association (north East Scotland Lawn Tennis Association) and Tennis Scotland (the Lawn Tennis Association). This provides wider opportunities for development and competition for Juniors and Adults. The Club will endeavour to flag events as they arise but equally you are encouraged to make sure that we are aware on anything that you may hear of.
North East Scotland League Teams and Practice Sessions
We have four mens teams and three ladies teams playing in the local LTA League. If you are interested in participating, speak to our Captains, Pawel Ewertowski and Jane Hoare and come along to a team practice session. There are also opportunities to play in inter-club social matches such as the Deeside League and the Mixed Social League.
North East Scotland Junior Matches
The Club is seeking to promote and engage in more inter-club junior play. Please contact our Junior Coordinator or our Coach if you are keen for your child to be involved
Monthly Saturday Events
We have regular Senior or Junior social events about once a month on Saturday afternoons. They generally take the form of short games, run in a round-robin tournament style where partners are continually rotated. Refreshments and snacks or barbeque are provided and they commence at 13.30. Watch the website and Club noticeboards for information on the forthcoming events.
Box Leagues
We run popular Box League competitions (singles and doubles) on a regular basis. These are advertised in our monthly newsletters. Contact Paul Wilson for further information.
Club Championships
These will take place over weekends at the end of August. For “fun doubles” you simply nominate yourself for the different categories and then, your partner will be selected for you and a handicap awarded depending on your pairing Alternatively, this year we will trial a new “competitive doubles” category in which you enter as your own selected pairing. Please put these dates in your diary because if you are not available over those two weekends, you will not be able to join in the fun!
