Coaching Bursary

BARNSLEY LTC - COACHING BURSARY SCHEME

BACKGROUND

BLTC have over 100 junior members of which over 80 are regularly being coached. To manage these numbers, we have built a support network which includes some of our more experienced juniors and senior team players. This approach has led to interest among members who wish to gain an accredited coaching qualification. The cost however can prove significant and may be a barrier to some members who would wish to progress their interest.

It is against this background that we have introduced the following bursary scheme:

THE SCHEME

1) The Club may provide a £50 contribution to course fees for members who pass an LTA Level 1 or Level 2 Accredited Coaching Qualification. This is subject to:

  1. The individual having been a member of BLTC for a minimum of 2 consecutive seasons with current active membership
  2. The individual providing evidence of their successfully gaining their coaching qualification
  3. A maximum of 4 bursary awards being granted per season

2) Members can in addition receive financial support from the Sheffield and District Tennis Association who periodically (usually twice yearly) allow Associate Club members to apply for a grant which we understand is up to 50% of course fees. Details are posted on their website.

ANY QUERIES

Any member who is interested in the scheme and wishes to discuss the scheme further should contact Chris Day (Club Chairman).
