Membership Renewals for 2024/25
We are inviting all our members to renew their memberships for the coming season from 01 April 2024 until 31 March 2025. Please view the membership page on our website and follow the instructions. The membership categories for this season are as follows:

Membership fees should be paid by bank transfer to the club’s main bank account.
***Please do not make any payment to the old bank account owned by Alex Haider***
Be sure to include your initial and surname as a payment reference. Members are encouraged to renew/pay the fees in a timely manner. On receipt of payment, you will be issued with the new gate code and membership welcome letter. You will also be issued with a new membership tag for 2024/25. Please ensure that you always have your membership tag with you at all times when visiting the club. James Price (Membership Secretary) will be handing out the membership tags over the coming weeks at club nights on Tuesday/Thursday evenings. Club night & Ladies’ night
The first club night of the season will be held on Tuesday 02 April 2024 from 17:30. Ladies’ night will continue to be held on Wednesday evenings (from 18:00) throughout the summer (one hard court and one grass court will be booked out).
Tournaments/Events 2024🏆
The following tournament/events are planned for 2024:
- Grass tournament (single/doubles)
- Chairman’s Cup (doubles)
- Waverley Open Day (Saturday 20 April 2024 11:30 – 13:30). There will be free children and adult group coaching. Non-members are welcome so please encourage friends and family to attend.
Please keep an eye out on our website for further information for exact dates and entry details of any tournaments.
Guest rules
As a reminder, members can bring guests at a guest fee of £5 per session. Each guest is limited to 3 visits. The £5 guest fee can be paid directly to a committee member or via the clubhouse letterbox. Please ensure that all guests are ‘signed in’ using the guest sheet which can be found in the clubhouse on the membership notice board. Committee members may conduct spot checks to ensure that all members are complying with club rules. This is important for insurance and health and safety purposes.
Children/Adult Coaching
Matt Church (LTA Level 2) continues to deliver adult drills every Saturday from 11:30 - 12:30. To book your spot, please contact Matt directly (07765 947231 or mattchurch24@outlook.com). The cost is £5 for members and £6 for non-members.
Matt is also available for private (individual and group) sessions at beginner and improver levels. Please contact Matt for pricing and availability.
Children’s coaching (ages 16 and under) is currently taking place on Saturday mornings from 09:30 - 10:30 by Simon Syed. This is a great way to get your children interested in tennis and make new friends. If you are interested, please contact Simon directly (07904 340004 or simonsyedtennis@aol.com).
Perveez is also available for one-to-one coaching. If you are interested, please contact Perveez directly on 07887 496930 or via e-mail (p.mirza@outlook.com).
Members WhatsApp Group Chat 📞
The club’s WhatsApp Group Chat is a handy way of organising matches and confirming attendance for club night. Members wishing to join the club’s WhatsApp Group should email info@waverleytennis.org.uk or speak to James Price (07412 329929).
Basingstoke Tennis League
The club currently has 2 men’s teams entered in the Basingstoke and District Summer/Winter League. We have also entered a mixed doubles team for the summer 2024 league. The club is always looking for players so if you are interested in playing competitive tennis, please speak to a member of the committee.
Clubhouse keys 🔑
Any member who wishes to have their own key to the clubhouse should submit a request to James Price. A £10 deposit is required.
Repainting of hard courts 🎨
The two hard courts will be deep cleaned and repainted in late March 2024 (blue inner, green outer). The booking sheet on the website will be blocked out accordingly. Members will be informed when the courts are ready for play.
