We are going to hold a mens doubles tournament for on Sunday 16th August from 10:00 to circa 16:00. We will sort out the pairings.Due to track and trace, only members who have pre-booked with me will be able to play.

Monday 31st August – American Tournament

It's back!! Monday 31st August - Bank Holiday American Tournament. This event is open to all adult members - male and female - and juniors with colours. You enter on your own and will be drawn with a partner just prior to the day itself.

The day will run from 10am (arrive 9.30) to approx 3pm. Due to LTA COVID-19 restrictions, we are only allowed a certain number of players at the club at any one time. It is therefore essential to book your place if you would like to play.  Places will be issued on a 'first come, first served' basis and a waiting list held.  However, if we have an overwhelming demand, it may be possible to split the day into 2 sessions, 9.30-12.30 and 1.30-4.30 but we won't know this until after the entry deadline.  The exact format of the tournament will be decided when we know how many people are entering.

To secure your place, please contact Carole Bacon, Deputy Club Captain, with your first name and surname by Friday 14th August.

Summer 2020 – Singles Ladder

When the club re-opened on 13th May Steve Lloyd-Barlow started a singles ladder, initially as just a bit of fun for 6-8 people to gauge the interest. But in the absence of league and tournament matches this summer, there is clearly an appetite from many members for some competitive singles, as the ladder has quickly grown to circa 50 players.

If any members (men, women, and juniors with colours) would like to join the ladder please contact Steve so that he can include you before the next round starts.

Some new members have already joined the ladder and we'd love to see more of you – it's a great way to get to know other members and make new friends.

The ladder is split into mini groups of 6 who all play each other across a 4/5 week period. If you win your group you move up, or lose the group and you drop down. The playing standard is quite mixed so you may get some tough games and some easier ones. New entrants join the ladder at the bottom - men and women all mixed in together!

Steve has agreed to run this to at least the end of September and will then review the situation and interest from members for the autumn/winter period.

TO JOIN, MESSAGE STEVE LLOYD-BARLOW ON 07748 031977

To help keep running costs of the club down we welcome all volunteers. We all 'muck in' and you can meet old and new friends. Whether you're a keen D.I.Y.er or a Professional Bodger we have small jobs for everyone, such as weeding, painting and hedge trimming (to name but a few) in order to keep the Clubhouse and Grounds in a good state of repair. If you would like to come along please contact David Paine so that we know how many to cater for. The club will provide a free lunch and a drink at around 12.30pm.
