Closure of Courts

Following last night's government announcement and in line with guidance and advice we've taken from the LTA, we are closing all our courts with immediate effect.

We realise that this news will be disappointing for members, particularly in light of the fact that we're being encouraged to exercise once per day. However, being an open club where people could play at any time, there is no way of putting in place the very strict measures we would need in order to comply with what we, as citizens, are being asked to do.

We're also aware that most other venues have closed their courts this morning and the rest will do so over the next 12-24 hours we are sure.

If you would like to follow the advice given by the LTA it is here:
https://www.lta.org.uk/about-us/tennis-news/news-and-opinion/general-news/2020/march/coronavirus-covid-19-advice-for-venues/

We're not the only club that feel we've not had the correct amount of support from the LTA and the guidance has been poor. We've had to make these very difficult decisions alone and this feedback has been given to the LTA. Although it is also worth noting, that these are demanding times for all of us and the pressure on the LTA to provide definitive advice will be difficult at this time.

We'll keep you up to date with any developments as we have them.

Stay safe everyone.
