Coaching Accreditation and Safeguarding Standards Requirements for Venue Registration - Autumn 2022

From Autumn 2022, it will become a requirement for anyone holding an LTA Level 2, LTA instructor, an overseas or external tennis coaching qualification, and who is delivering coaching activity at LTA Registered venues to be LTA Accredited.

For LTA Level 1s / LTA Assistants, tennis activators and tennis leaders, clear deployment guidelines will be communicated to ensure they are carrying out activity consistently, safely, and competently. 

To achieve this standard:

  1. Ensure you find out and have evidence of the qualification level of all coaches currently operating at your venue. Many of the coaches may already be LTA Accredited – their status (and expiry date) can be checked on the LTA website.
  2. Ensure all Level 2 - 5 coaches at your venue are aware of the requirement to be Accredited and that they act now to complete any pre-requisites.
  3. Venues and coaches are advised to apply for criminal record checks and complete any necessary outstanding training (e.g. first aid, safeguarding) at least 12 weeksbefore the registration window closes at the end of November 2022.
