On Saturday 10th October the annual mixed adults Coast Tournament between Beverley Park LTC, Cullercoats LTC and Collingwood LTC was held.

The event consists of 4 teams from each club arranged into two group stages which was held at Beverley Park LTC and Cullercoats LTC and the semi-final and final being played at the latter. 

This year seen a high quality standard event with the Scrafton’s from Beverley Park LTC, who were last year’s winners, crashing out in the group stage. 

In beautiful conditions Cullercoats LTC manage to get two teams out the group stage and into the semi-finals with Beverley Park LTC and Collingwood LTC making up the final 4!

Two fantastic semi-finals seen Phill Wood & Jane Pledger, from Beverley Park LTC beat James Young & Sveta Freeman from Cullercoats, 6-3.

In the other semi-final Sam and Aimee Knowles defeated Ben Ashfield & Clara Loughlin  6-2 to set up another Beverley Park LTC and Cullercoats LTC final for the second year running. 

The final was played at a great level and Sam and Aimee Knowles triumphed 6-1 in the final to claim the trophy for Cullercoats LTC. The Knowles put on an impressive display and they even lost 4-2 in the group stages against Phil and Jane!

This was the second year in a row a brother and sister partnership has been crowned champions for their club and the pair have a combined age of just 26 years old!
