Beverley Town LTC – Safe use of Tennis Courts for Tennis Players

COVID- 19 – Safe System of Operation for Court Access and play as at V 24/03/2021

Club members and guests must adhere to the system of operation in process for court access, as directed by LTA guidelines for Venues/Coaches/Players.

If a club member or guest is concerned they have symptoms of COVID-19 they must follow the latest NHS guidance and if advised to self-isolate at home. They must follow the guidance from Public Health England. At this point they must not attend the tennis club until advised that it is safe to do so.

You MUST keep up to date with the current status of the tennis club to ensure that the correct safe court booking and access procedures are followed at all times.

 

You MUST keep to the 2m social distancing rule set by the government all times.

 

SINGLES PLAY – two  players on court only, can be from separate households

 

DOUBLES PLAY – four players on court, family groups, or  2 separate households

 

GROUP ACTIVITY SESSIONS per court - no more than 12 adults per group on one court/surrounding area, plus coach/group leader.   There must be enough space to enable people to maintain safe social distancing throughout the planned activity. 

Club nights -Juniors – maximum of 15 players per court plus coach/group leader. Seniors –maximum total group of 30 people including coaches. -All courts will be booked for  use to promote safe social distancing through sessions

 

MINI –LEAGUE COMPETITIONS – can  now be reinstated with play in line with Covid 19 guidelines

COURT BOOKINGS

  • Court access is by on line booking only, with on line payment for guests
  • Go to BeverleyTownTennisClub /Clubspark to book your court time
  • Only designated courts open for play can be booked

COURT ACCESS

  • Arrive at the club at least ten minutes before your booked court time
  • If you have travelled by car and there are other players on your court wait in your car until those players have left the court area.  If you have not travelled by car wait outside the court area ensuring you adhere to 2m social distancing rules.
  • Follow entry and exit signs on the court gates to ensure safe routes to and from court areas
  • Gates will remain open to minimise the risk of cross infection via multi - handling of handles and locks
  • Leave the club when you have finished playing – do not congregate with others on or off court

 

 

 

TENNIS PAVILION AND MAIN CLUB HOUSE

  • The tennis pavilion remains closed to members in line with LTA guidance
  • Toilets are in the main club pavilion and will be open for limited periods only, as directed by the bar committee.
  • You are advised to bring your own hand sanitizer for use whilst using the courts

EQUIPMENT

  • Club members and guests MUST provide their own racquets and tennis balls, marked with own initials. DO NOT SHARE  RACQUETS / HATS /TOWELS/ DRINKS BOTTLES / FOOD
  • Clean down your racquet at home  before and after play
  • Tennis nets will be left out and adjusted to correct heights-

PLAYERS MUST NOT ADJUST NET HEIGHTS AT ANY TIME.

Minimise handling of gate handles and nets as much as possible

  • All tennis balls must be collected and taken home at the end of play
  • DO NOT LEAVE ANY TENNIS BALLS OR EQUIPMENT IN THE COURT AREAS AFTER YOU HAVE FINISHED PLAYING – ANY ITEMS LEFT WILL BE BAGGED AND DISPOSED OF.

SAFE PLAY

  • Maintain safe social distancing of  2m at all times
  • Adjacent courts are now open – ensure your tennis balls are not hit onto courts where other people are playing
  • Do not make physical contact with your opponent i.e. high fives/handshakes
  • If you need to cough /sneeze do so into a tissue or crook of your elbow- dispose of tissues at home
  • Avoid touching your face / eyes / mouth and do not spit to the ground anywhere at the club
  • Whenever possible pick up tennis balls via your racquet to minimise handling

 

 

 

Potential hazards and Injuries

 

  • Contact with bodily fluids and sprayed droplets
  • Spread of Covid 19 infection due to poor hygiene practises and non- adherence to safe social distancing rules.

DO :

 

  • Wash your hands at home before and after you play tennis
  • Maintain good hygiene standards at the club
  • Provide your own hand sanitizer for use when at the club
  • Travel safely to and from the club with respect for social distancing rules

DO NOT  :

 

  • Enter the tennis club if you or your playing partner are symptomatic of Covid 19, or have tested positive within the last 10-14 days.
