This winter’s “Singles Pyramid Challenge” is still running abd will continue until mid-February 2018 (the beginning of the school half-term). The number of matched played has already exceeded last year's competition. Late entries are still welcome. Click on the Membership tab and then Singles Pyramid.
This is a great way for new members to get to know and play others.
For those who are not familiar with a Pyramid Challenge it is similar to a Ladder, but offers more opportunities to challenge and is therefore less likely to “grind to a halt”.
Players are placed within a pyramid shape and challenge others in order to try and get to the top.
There will be two important differences to last season’s Pyramid Challenge:
1. The challenge is open to ladies, not just men.
2. The better players (or those perceived to be so!) will be startr at the bottom of the pyramid; encouraging more challenges.
The match format will be the same as last time, 10 Game Pro Set (First to 10 games with a margin of 2 games. Tie break at 10 all). Games to be arranged by the two individuals involved, for a time to suit them.
A full list of rules is viewable on the club website under the “Membership” Tab.
