Summer 2021 News - 08th Aug 2021

I hope you are well and enjoying your tennis and here's hoping Covid fades into the past. There are a few items of interest so please read on.

Covid Easing
We are heading back to normal but please use common sense and respect others with regard to contact, proximity and hygiene.

An updated version of the code of conduct can be found here, please read and adhere to the rules within it.

A PDF version can be found here.

November News
Subject to finding the usual welcoming venue, we plan our end-of-season Presentation Evening and Dinner on Saturday 13th November, please put it in your diary. Our AGM will be on Wednesday 10th November and it would be good to have some new committee members in place to keep the Club momentum going into the new year. If you might be interested, I'd be happy to have a confidential chat with you.

Club Sessions
Our Club sessions continue to thrive. They are shown on our website and members should still pre-book (via WhatsApp) with the organisers. Even if the session is full, please book as players can drop out and equally importantly, we can assess demand. Feedback on the structure, timing and days of Club sessions is always welcome.

Club Championships
All draws have been made and players informed. Please contact your opponents to arrange to play matches. If you lack contact details, please email the club on bougheygardenstennisclub@gmail.com

Inter Club Matches
We have been unable to play many matches but hopefully everyone who wanted to play had a taster. We hope things will soon return to normal. For those wishing to play in teams we now have Friday night training sessions.

Social Tournaments
The good news is that we are finally able to have some social tournaments back on the agenda. For those newcomers, these are played on one day, involve frequent changes of partner, light refreshments and much fun. Put Sunday 12th September and Friday 15th October in your diary.

Volunteers
Thanks again to all the wonderful folk who refurbished the clubhouse. Having such great people helps keep our costs down and gives a great Club environment. I have 2 particular appeals outstanding.  Does anyone know anything about arranging/managing specialist electrical work relating to floodlights, timers and switches? Can anyone spare 30 mins a week to join our clubhouse cleaning rota?

Feedback
Please let us know if you have any thoughts, concerns, suggestions on any of the above or anything else to help your Club continue to thrive.

Regards, Barry
