CLUBSPARK BOOKER APP:  Many of our members are reporting that this app makes court bookings a lot easier.  You can remain logged in and it's very easy to use.  It shows what bookings you have coming up  and you can cancel via the app also.  Please use this link for more information:   Booker App

FLOODLIGHTS- A reminder:

  • They can only be used with very strict guidelines.  Tokens can be purchased from Rebecca only.  Hands must be sanitised additionally before opening the light box and again immediately afterwards.  You must follow the CONDITIONS OF USE which can also be found on the Floodlights tab under COURT BOOKINGS:
  1. Floodlights can only be used Monday - Saturday NOT Sundays
  2. We only have permission to use these until 9.30pm prompt.  No token can be put in the box after 9pm
  3. Court 5 must  be used first, followed by Court 4, Court 3, Court 2 and then Court 1 in that order.
  4. Tokens at  a cost of £2 per 30 mins can be purchased from Rebecca Rose  rebrose11@sky.com
  5. If the lights go off you must wait for 15 minutes before using another token this is to protect the bulbs from overheating.  If someone is using the courts before you, you must put your token in before the last one runs out

TENNIS ACTIVITIES UPDATE:   The current LTA guidelines appear to allow no more than 6 people playing together i.e. one swap between two courts playing doubles.  We are in communication with the LTA to try and clarify this position.  Until then we cannot return to normal social tennis or our Winter League/ American tournaments.   However looking ahead-

Winter League tournament:  We remain hopeful that by October we will be able to hold this very popular internal social/competitive tournament.   We run this on a Monday from 7pm on floodlit courts.  The cost is £3.50 to cover new balls and floodlights.

This is a fun, social, in-house doubles competition where teams of six players (ideally 3 men and 3 women) compete against another team on the night.  Each player will play with every member of his/ her team in five, 20 mins mini matches.  The team who has won the most number of mini matches overall wins the match.    We are looking for a willing volunteer to help run this, ideally someone not involved with anything else.  The main focus of this would be to select the different teams. If you are interested please email Rebecca.  rebrose11@sky.com

Box Leagues:  The doubles and singles box leagues have been running for several months now with a large participation.  For latest results see the various tabs under PLAY.  The plan is to keep these going throughout the winter on a 2 month cycle.    Please email Steve if you are interested in entering:  stephen.spikings+boxleague@gmail.com

Aylesbury District League:  We are entering two Mixed teams (midweek evening matches), two Mens and two Ladies teams (Sunday matches) and a Vets Team (over 55- also played on Sundays).  These are external matches played against other clubs in the area.  The league is due to begin 1st October.  If anyone has any questions or is interested in playing, please contact our Club Team Captain Ali.  ali@j-mer.co.uk
