NEW SHELTER: We now have a  new shelter  to allow comfortable and easy viewing of both Court 5 and the mini court and it now features a former Church pew. New paving to follow. Thanks to Matt Cannon, his co-workers and Roughstuff Oak for providing labour and materials. https://roughstuffoak.co.uk

AND WE HAVE A NEW SQUEEGEE TOO: The Club has a new squeegee to clear the occasional puddle on court 5 and the hitting wall. You can find it in the shed. 

DEFIBRILATOR CODE: As noted in last month’s newsletter, we now have a defibrillator at the club. The code is C159.

CONGRATULATIONS: At the recent AGM we announced this year's awards. Congratulations go to Angela Morgans who won the Most Improved Player and to Elise Edwards who won the Most Improved Player from the Improvers group.

 

LTA MEMBERSHIP: The LTA offers FREE membership to all Bovingdon and Flaunden Tennis Club members.  There is also a new LTA "Team" membership with extra benefits. Please take a minute to join via the LTA website:.  Join here

Only those who have joined the LTA and are Bovingdon & Flaunden Tennis Club affiliated will be eligible to enter the Wimbledon draw. More information on opting into the ballot will be sent in the New Year. 

 

REMINDER ON VISITOR POLICY: Our visitor rule is aimed at "occasional" use for those that, for example, want to bring someone out of area up to have a game of tennis. It is not for non members to be able to come and play without joining. The following guidance gives an example of our visitor rules:  VISITORS

CHRISTMAS COACHING

Juniors Saturday coaching will run for the next two Saturdays and then restart on 9th January.

Holiday camp: The coaching team is considering running a holiday camp. Please contact Craig if you are interested.  craig.tennis@outlook.com

Singles tactics coaching: If you are interested in a session over the Christmas period to help your singles play please get in touch with Craig or Natalia.

BOX LEAGUES: The Singles Boxes are now live on the website with a deadline for completion of 28th February. And the Doubles Boxes are due to run to 31st January. Get those games in early as every point counts. 

FLOODLIT TOURNAMENTS: Thanks to John and Karen for organizing two highly successful Floodlit Tournaments this week with 20 members playing in the snow on Monday and a further 12 in mini-version today. Great to see so many members joining in these social tournaments!

The next Floodlit Tournament at Improver level will be held on Monday, 21st December. 

MORE FESTIVE FUN AT THE AMERICAN TOURNAMENT: Club Social members are reminded to join the American Tournament being held on 28th December from 11am-1pm. Your nominal entrance fee of £3 per person will give you Mulled Wine (bring your own glass), mince pies and great tennis. Interested? Watch out for more information. 

The Improver level American Tournament is being held the day before on 27th December. 

DISTRICT LEAGUES: Mens Vets are yet to play in the Herts Mens Senior League since the lifting of lockdown 2

In the Aylesbury & District Winter League, congratulations to the Ladies A who are currently top of Division 7 having won all three matches played to-date. Good luck for your next match at home on Sunday, 13th December. 

Ladies B are second in Division 9 with one win and one loss against division leaders, Prestwood, and their next match away on Saturday. 

Mens A are top of Division 5 following a home win on 5th December. Next up, Prestwood at home tomorrow. Ladies B really hope you win that one!

Mixed B play their first match in Division 7, at home, tomorrow.
