Competition Day 11 Club Championships Update

Monday 25th saw 6 matches played as each event gets closer to revealing the line ups for Saturday.
A hastily rearranged mens singles SF fixture saw Dave Kirkman come back from a set and a break down to beat Steve Coleman in three sets to head to Saturday's final. Steve was unavailable for comment as he hotfooted it over to Bowdon Lawn to play a further 3 set doubles match. Jonathan Khan grabbed household bragging rights (for now) by beating Lewis Khan in two sets to reach the SF in the top half of the draw.
Karen Cleminson/Jenny Hirst beat Julie Besbrode/Joanne Bernstein in the ladies doubles. They progress to play the SF tomorrow against No1 seeds Liz Baker/Louise Whyte.
Three matches in the mens doubles; all two set wins. Simon Denyer/Mark Hoskins beat Matt Hughes/Billy Kochhar; they next face Raj Kushwaha/Jonathan Khan, who beat James Hider/Rob Goater by a similar score. Keith Harris/Paul Skelt hurried in the opposite direction to Steve. Fresh from a close match at our neighbouring club; they beat David Clift and Guy Johnson to set up a SF meeting for the second consecutive year.
