Four matches completed on Thursday 21st and the draw is starting to take shape with another four matches planned on Friday 22nd.

In the mens singles Dave Kirkman beat Duncan Hurlstone in two close sets; progressing to play James Hider in the QF on Friday. In the ladies singles Philippa Hayton ensured her place in the final by beating Angela Bowcock. Angela plays Julie Besbrode on Friday to determine who will join her.

In the mixed doubles; Louise Whyte & Simon Denyer booked their place in the SF with a three set win over Heidi and Jos Bailey. Special mention to Heidi for playing on despite picking up an injury at the start of the third set. 

Helen Judd and Jackie Huggon booked their ladies doubles SF berth with a two set win over Gill Birrell and Sarah Salton.

In addition to the matches already mentioned, Friday sees Keith Harris play Raj Kushwaha in the mens singles. The winner gets the right to play Geraint Davies in a talented quarter of the draw.

Meanwhile, on the adjacent court, Sam Pegg and Steve Coleman meet in the QF to play the winner of Dave Kirkman and James Hider.
