Michael Harris Charity Run
Sun 18 Mar 2018
On 22 April, Michael Harris is running the London Marathon in memory his dear friend and neighbour, Andrew Cohen, who tragically died as a result of a heart attack in December while training for a half-marathon.
- Michael Says "Every one of my training runs has started and finished looking up Woodhead Road to number 20, with a few gentle stretches and a few deep breaths - and thinking of Andrew and Hannah and Orly and Brody - XXXX
Every day, seven young people in the UK are diagnosed with cancer - people like Tanya Hill (below), who found out that she had leukaemia in December 2015.
These young people need treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer’. Teenage Cancer Trust provide that support. They have been with Tanya every step of the way.
After two years of treatment, Tanya is now in remission and AMAZINGLY running the London Marathon on 22 April to raise money for TCT.
I am lucky enough to be running alongside Tanya - and hundreds of others - raising funds for TCT.
I know lots of people do amazing things to raise funds for good causes but, for someone who is no Mo Farah, training for the Marathon has been a challenge.
I will have run more than 1,000 km in training - from long, monotonous runs on the treadmill - to gruelling runs outdoors in rain, wind and snow.
But it will all be worthwhile if - with your support - I can raise lots of money for TCT - supportingthem in the amazing work they do - supporting incredible young people like Tanya.
