The hot weather continues and it’s great to see the courts in good use.
A reminder that it is critical to follow Covid19 measures so please remember to:
- follow social-distancing rules and use hand sanitiser
- Record your visit on the attendance register on the veranda
- limit your access to the club-house & take your rubbish home with you (this will also save me the job as bin-monitor – Thanks – Penny)
- Please lock the club-house after use and if using the key-safe REMEMBER to replace the key.
Luke has held some successful mornings with a group of volunteers painting the outdoor furniture and verandah, weeding around the courts and flower-bed etc and generally having a tidy-up. He and John (Morgan) also installed warning signs outside the hedge telling children not to play within or on the hedge. Super-size tent pegs are being sourced to secure the netting at the back of courts one and two. Members who helped were Colin, Rory, Del, Alan (Donald), Trevor, Annie, John (Darby) and new member Monika. A big thank-you to everyone who gave their time. Please look out for the next maintenance session later in the year: it’s a good way to do your bit!
The club tournament is well under way – Finals Day is on Saturday 3nd October – and with some interesting matches to be contested. Details can be found on the club website.
