With spring in full swing and the courts buzzing once again, Bubwith Tennis Club is thrilled to welcome members back for the 2025 season. And this year's opening weekend featured a standout moment that perfectly captured the spirit of our club — a doubles match featuring one of our most beloved intergenerational teams.
Long-time memeber, Dave Corfield, and his 12-year old grandson, Beau Corfield, teamed up on Sunday to play for the newly-formed Bubwith Third Mens team. The pair brought a blend of experience and energy to the courts — showing that great tennis (and great memories) are best shared across generations.
Cheered on by family and friends, it is safe to say that the next generation of Corfields are well-placed to continue their contribution to Bubwith Tennis Club.
The final score was Bubwith 3 10 1⁄2 v. Heworth 3 1 1⁄2. More importantly, was that moments like these remind us why we love the game and why Bubwith Tennis Club is such a special place — a place where competition and connection go hand in hand, and where tennis is truly for all ages.
Here’s to a fantastic season ahead — see you on the courts!
