Some advice based on last years experiences
1. Leaf clearance and other debris clearance before undertaking the brushing is vital. There is a garden hoe we think will help with bird droppings and brush/dustpan in the equipment store to assist with this.
2. The brush should do the work, not the user – it is designed just to be walked along the surface, downward pressure is neither needed nor desirable.
3. The advice from Replay is that frequent brushing is an important part of court maintenance – it provides a significant benefit to the courts and cannot have any detriment so long as unnecessary downward pressure is not applied.
4. Whilst the recommendation from Replay is to brush the whole court, experience has shown that the greatest slip risk is the baselines and behind them and the tram lines and the sides of the court, thus priority should be given to those areas.
5. If petrol running low, please let Darryl know on 07962234945 – he has to mix petrol with 2 stroke.
6. Whilst powered brushing is the best option, if you are unable to use the power brush for any reason then the drag brush is a suitable alternative as it will still lift the pile on the court to the upright position.
7. If you are unable to brush on the week allocated to you please in the first instance try to arrange a swap with another person on the rota. If this turns out not to be possible then contact Robert on 07981585866.
