Many thanks to all brushers.
Some advice based on last year’s experiences
- Leaf and debris clearance: Remove leaves and other debris before brushing. There is a garden hoe (useful for bird droppings) and a brush/dustpan in the equipment store.
- Let the brush do the work: The brush is designed to be walked along the surface. Do not apply unnecessary downward pressure.
- Frequency matters: Replay advise frequent brushing — it benefits the courts and causes no harm so long as excessive downward pressure is not used.
- Priority areas: Replay recommend brushing the whole court, but experience shows the highest slip risk is at the baselines, behind them, the tram lines and the sides of the court, so give those areas priority.
- Petrol for the brush: If petrol is running low, please notify our Facilities Coordinator Andy Corfield at 07972 259497. Note: he mixes petrol with 2-stroke.
- Unable to brush your week? First try to arrange a swap with someone on the rota. If that is not possible, contact Robert at 07981 585866.
