Dear Club Member,
You and your friends are cordially invited to attend The Burton Tennis and Squash Club Summer Ball to be held at The Pavilion, Branston Golf and Country Club, on Saturday 23rd September 2017.
This year’s event follows the tremendous success of our previous ball, held at the same venue in 2015, at which over one hundred guests enjoyed a wonderful evening whilst raising £700 for The Donna Louise Children’s Hospice.
The ball will include a delicious four course dinner, for which there will be a choice of two starters, two main courses and a vegetarian option followed by dessert and tea or coffee. A disco will round off the evening. There will be a raffle and fundraising games.
Tables of ten are available and tickets, priced at £40 per person for early-birds, are on sale NOW. Tickets purchased after August 23rd will be priced at £45. Please register your interest on the sheet on the clubhouse notice board. Please note that all tickets must be purchased in full before the event and cannot be refunded.
This year’s choice of charity has particular resonance as we have decided to honour the memory of our much-loved club member Alex Parker. Last September Alex died very suddenly of an undiagnosed heart condition at the tragically young age of 13. For this reason the committee, with Alex’s parents’ blessing, has decided to raise money for CRY (Cardiac Risk in the Young). This very worthwhile charity has been working closely with Alex’s parents, Bernie and Gary, to raise awareness of this terrible threat to young people’s lives, in the hope that no other family has to experience the dreadful loss they have suffered.
Therefore, we should be enormously grateful if members, either individually or via their company, would consider sponsoring the event. This may include provision of the welcome drink, raffle or auction prizes, the table programme, the cost of the DJ, or any other aspect of the evening. Of course we would ensure that any sponsorship is fully recognised should you wish it.
