What can you expect?
At the Blue stage, children will learn fundamental skills for tennis through play in a fun, stimulating and safe environment. Children will be encouraged to make decisions and positively cooperate with other children. Sessions will be active with skills being developed at an appropriate pace to the child’s experience and ability.
Notes from the coach
LTA Youth BLUE stage is designed to finesse kids fine motor skills like balance, agility and coordination. At this stage it’s not about winning or losing but just getting to grips with the basics. COVID-19 update – taking part in any activity poses an increased risk of infection spread. Prior to attending please perform a pre-attendance self-assessment check for symptoms using the guidance at: www.nhs.uk/conditions/coronavirus-covid-19/symptoms/. If any symptoms are present, please stay at home and follow the advice on the NHS site. When attending coach led sessions, hand hygiene is imperative (use sanitiser at intervals, especially after touching tennis balls or court equipment), avoid touching face, wash hands thoroughly at home after the session, maintain a 2m distance from the coach and other players, no sharing of drinks or snacks and bring your own (clearly labelled) racket.
