Week 6 Round-Up

Week 6 of the 2022 season saw Carlton experience all the emotions this week. It began with a white-wash 16-0 win over Mawdesley 2. Despite a few sets being well fought, the home advantage of the shale courts proved vital at the right times. This result gives them their third win of the season and have now moved up to third third in Division 3.
In the 5th division, our second team sadly fell 14-2 to a strong and solid North Meols 4 side. Despite the best efforts of the side that was fielded for this matchup, the strength of North Meols proved too much for them. This result now puts them fifth in the table.
It was a tough week for the club getting members available to play this week for numerous reasons. There was enough notable absentees, that the third team were forced to concede their match against Formby 4 due to lack of available players. That result now makes it six losses out of six as they remain bottom of the table.
It was almost a similar outcome for our Liverpool team. However not only were they able to field four of the required six players, they managed to snatch a 4-2 away win at Trinity A. Despite every match being well contested, Carlton won all of the played contests and collected their first win of 2022. That first win moves them out of the relegation zone.
Next week sees the conclusion of the first half of the 2022 season. It begins on Monday with the first team travelling to Hightown 1 and the second team hosting Formby Village 3. The third team will be playing on Tuesday at home against Blundellsands 3, while the Liverpool team travel to take on Palmerston D on Thursday.
Good luck to every member that will be representing the club this week.
