If your child is new to tennis, or has only recently started playing, our FUNdamental sessions are the perfect introduction. These sessions are designed to develop basic coordination, movement, and racket skills in a fun and engaging way. Through a variety of games and activities, children learn the building blocks of tennis while developing confidence on court. The emphasis is on enjoyment, participation, and creating a positive first experience of the sport.

As your child becomes more confident and has been playing regularly for a little while, they will be ready to progress to our Rising Star sessions. These sessions introduce players to the challenge of rallying with a partner and help them to begin understanding the purpose behind each shot. With a balance of structured drills and gameplay, children start to build tactical awareness, consistency, and problem-solving skills, all while continuing to enjoy the social and active nature of tennis.

For younger players who are already on the County Pathway and showing strong potential, we now offer our Red Ball Performance Programme. These sessions are designed for players aged under 8 who are looking to build a tailored training and competition schedule. With a focus on technical development, tactical awareness, and physical literacy, the Red Ball Performance Programme supports children in preparing for county-level competition and beyond. Parents will also receive guidance on how to structure a balanced programme to support their child’s progress confidently through the early stages of their tennis journey.

For those showing high levels of commitment and a desire to train more frequently, we also offer our Competitor sessions (invitational). These sessions are targeted at players who wish to take their tennis to the next level by playing multiple times per week and becoming involved in competition. Participants in the Competitor pathway will have the opportunity to represent the Beckett Junior Tennis Team, competing each half term in a supportive and friendly environment against other local clubs.

We are proud of our fantastic links with other clubs in the area, many of which are led by LBU alumni. Thanks to these connections, once a child reaches the stage where they are ready and motivated to progress through the official LTA competition structure, we can guide both players and parents. Our team will provide tailored advice on how to build a suitable training and competition programme to support long-term player development and ensure that each child has the chance to reach their full potential in tennis.
