For those of you without access to the club’s Facebook page, (facebook.com/stewartrysports), the following information was posted yesterday.

Membership queries can be directed by email to scscenquiries@btconnect.com

CLUB NIGHTS will commence on Tuesday 9th April from 6.00 to 8.00 pm and will continue each Tuesday night thereafter.  Social sets will be arranged for players of all abilities.

LEAGUE MATCHES start the following night on Wednesday 10th April.  We are only entering a Men's team in Division 1 this year.  Unfortunately we've lost most of our ladies team who won Division 1 for 6 years in a row up until 2023.  Injuries, other commitments and father time have reduced our squad. The men's team begin with a home match against Dumfries 3 who gained promotion from Division 2 last year.

ADULT COACHING conducted by Geoff Legg will commence on Monday 8th April from 10.00 to 11.30 am followed by social tennis.  Coaching is provided free of charge to members by Geoff.  Adult membership is £10 per month (family £15 p.m.) - see above for email address for membership enquiries.

Finally, it's worth mentioning the successes of Isla and Eamon McFarlane which have continued over the winter.  They have played a large number of tournaments, mainly in the central belt and in Carlisle, winning singles and doubles events.  They have both been selected to represent South of Scotland County (D&G, Ayrshire and Borders for tennis) in the 14 & Under County Cup at the end of April; Isla's team in a group of 4 at Newcastle and Eamon's team in a group of 4 at Edinburgh.  Isla has also been selected to represent D&G in the 16's age group in the inter-district tournament to be held in Perthshire next week (there are 9 districts and 4 counties for tennis in Scotland). Eamon's time will come - he's just out of the 12's and plenty of years left for 16's selection.
