With all the unhappy news around we thought it was time for a little good news of our own!
As the booking system seems to have settled down in everybody’s minds, for a trial period we will change the booking rules to allow 10 bookings per 14-day window. If we don’t encounter any problems, we will keep it that way, but may revert to 8 per 14-days if there are any difficulties. There are many times that the club is quiet, so it shouldn’t be too difficult to find an empty slot, not necessarily at your usual time. The booking tool makes it very clear where the gaps are. The 14-day window is rolling, so your old bookings drop off as the days go past, but remember to do your adding up before the computer does!
Secondly, our long-suffering squash and racketball players have been waiting a long time to get properly back on court. Unfortunately, we can’t go against Scottish Government and SportScotland advice and regulations, so there’s no good news there. However, with immediate effect, we will make the squash courts free to play by removing the coin box from the light meters. Book your court as usual, put your money in the slot to activate the lights, then pick up your coins from the open coin box. Simples! We hope to be able to continue free lights for a period if/when normal or conditioned play is allowed to resume.
Lastly, the not-so-good news. We realise that the aircon in the Gym (and AR) can’t be put on at the moment, but if you need to open the window, please ensure you close it again when you go. Committee members have had to close windows recently, and leaving them open is completely detrimental to building security, safety and protection – there’s a lot of wild weather about, and we’d rather it stayed completely outside, as well as any undesirables roaming the park at night!
