Following on from last evening's celebrations for Rab Peacock's 80th birthday it was the turn of our Mixed League team this evening. They were playing their last match against Dumfries 1 and it was all to play for. Depending on the result of this match and Dalbeattie's re-arranged match vs Dumfries 2 there could be 3 league winners - SCSC, Dumfries 1 or Dalbeattie. SCSC knew if they won the final match the league title would be going to Castle Douglas from its almost permanent home in recent years - Dalbeattie.

After the first round of matches it was 1 all and everything to play for in the second round. After some very tight and entertaining tennis SCSC won both matches to secure a 3-1 victory and the league title. Congratulations to Dumfries 1 and Dalbeattie for making it such a close run thing. It must be said that Dalbeattie couldn't put out their strongest team for all the matches against SCSC and Dumfries.

This means that SCSC has won the ladies and mixed leagues in 2022. We couldn't put out a men's team this year due to injuries and old age etc.
