Mixed 2 – 25th May – Away vs Aylesbury

Team: Amanda de W, Jane C, Nick T, Chris H

Result : Won 5-3

CSP secured a nail-biting 5-3 victory away to Aylesbury.  Despite extremely challenging conditions – including a BBQ party in full swing complete with bouncy castle adjacent to the courts and lots of lobs expertly played into the bright sun by our opponents – the CSP team secured victory in the final set to win the match.  The ladies were the star performers on the day, with Amanda winning all four of her sets and Jane winning three of her four sets.

Ladies 1 – 2nd June - Home vs. Chesham Bois 3

Team: Carys E, Ana W, Alex S, Amanda de W

Result: Won 6-2

The ladies 1st team had their first home game of the season on Sunday. Conditions were hot and sunny, but the team shone through with a first class performance winning 6-2. Ana & Carys blazed through their first match to win 6-0, 6-4 whilst Alex & Amanda had a close battle narrowly losing their first rubber. Alex & Amanda won their second match with some tightly contested points, but overall came out on top whilst Carys & Ana won a close first set and won the second through retirement. The first win of the season for the Ladies 1s and an excellent performance!

Men’s 2 - 1st June - Away vs. Great Missenden 2

Team: Ed I, Chris D, Will S, Chris H

Result: Lost 2-6

The men’s second team put up a spirited performance on the artificial clay surface at Great Missenden against a team that were a couple of divisions higher than them last season. Things looked optimistic early on, leading 2-1 and up in the 4th set, but the opposition picked up their game and came out on top in the end.
