Club Competitions - Summer2023

Thankyou to all those who entered the tournaments - we have had another bumper entry this year! 

Our Finals Day took place on one of the hottest, most humid days of the year so firstly, congratulations to all participants for battling so hard in difficult conditions. Given the weather forecast, two finals were delayed to a later date to ensure that no finalist had to play more than a safe number of matches in one day.

All the matches were played in good spirit and were enjoyed by those who came to spectate. After some very long rallies, closely contested points and multiple deuces, the winners were:

Junior Singles - Max Lawrence (6-3, 6-1)

Mens Singles - Aston Deva-Nix (6-4, 6-3)

Mens Doubles - Matt Savvides & Fred Greenwood (6-4, 6-3)

Ladies Doubles - Pam Page & Sue White (2-6, 6-3, 7-5)

Mens Veteran Singles - Nigel Guy (7-5, 6-3)

Well done to all our champions and commiserations to all our runners-up - there were some very close matches!

The Singles Ladder was played on a later date when Fred Greenwood defeated Matt Savvides in a good contest.

The Mixed Doubles final, Pam Page & Matt Savvides v Lisa Stuckey & Aston Deva-Nix remained uncontested following a number  of attempts to arrange a mutually convenient date.
