Cheriton Tennis Club Newsletter 2022

Dear Members,

After a trying two years it’s good to see lots of members enjoying playing at Cheriton at the many sessions taking place during the week.

Memberships renewals for the 2022/23 season are due by 1 April. This year the criteria for adult concessionary now only applies to adults who are 65 and over on 1 April, 2022. Prices are rising slightly but we haven’t had any increases for many years.

The new padlock code will change on 1 April and the number given to all renewed members. Jo Liptrot, the Club’s hardworking membership secretary, is on hand to answer any queries but all the details will be on the website.

At the last Club committee meeting we looked at a range of quotes for resurfacing the courts and  plan to do the work in the autumn once the contract has been agreed. The process won’t take longer than three weeks and will use special high grade tarmac to ensure the courts are in peak condition. This is a major expenditure but hasn’t been done since the Club’s replaced the original grass courts with the current two floodlit all weather courts and a mini court.

All members are welcome to come along to the Club AGM which is being held @7pm on Thursday 31 March in the Cheriton Tennis Clubhouse.

Many thanks for all your continued support and hope the sun shines this summer, allowing more time to get out on the courts.
