The 9U County Cup recently took place outdoors in Leeds so several layers and quick jogs were required to keep everyone warmed up and ready for action. There were some excellent performances in difficult conditions and all players showed teamwork and effort. The boys narrowly missed top spot, finishing a strong second.

Boys' Captain - Tony Green

Results - v Notts Won 4-2, v Isle of Man Won 6-0, v Yorks Lost 7-5 - finished 2nd in the Group

Girls' Captain - Amanda Twigg

Girls' Team - Eva Proudlove, Maisie Greenall, Antonella Netri, Richa Roopesh and Gwynne Brown

Results - v Yorks Won 4-3, v Notts Won 5-1 finished TOP in the Group

The 9U Girls now play in the North Area Finals in Loughborough on 22nd April and we wish them the best of luck!

Beat Hereford & Worcester 5-1
Beat West of Scotland 5-1
Lost to Cambs 1-5
Beat Lancs 4-3 on a shootout for 2nd place.

Cambridgeshire were the strongest team in the group and showed that by winning the event with their 4 national level players. Our girls showed real determination and supported each other from start to fnish. To finish runners up was a wonderful effort from them and showed that they can compete at a high level. Well done!
