9U Girls County Cup Qualifying Report – Lauren Banks and Amanda Twigg
The girls were placed in a group at Wrexham Tennis Centre with Derbyshire, Hereford & Worcestershire and North Wales. We took 6 girls to the event which gave us plenty of opportunities to rotate the players in singles and doubles, 3 of the girls were a year younger so it was great to get them involved to give them the experience of playing this event. We started strong against Derbyshire winning this match 6-0 with all the girls getting the chance to play. Next, we moved on to North Wales, again we were too strong for them, winning 6-0. The last match was against Hereford & Worcester with the chance to win the group and qualify for the national finals. Once again, the girls were excellent and beat H&W 6-0. The girls won the group without dropping a match and now move on to the national finals in Nottingham on Saturday 20th April.

9U Boys County Cup Qualifying Report – Tony Green and Daniel Longshaw
The boys were up against Derbyshire, Hereford & Worcester, Isle of Man, and North Wales. The boys quickly got into their stride by beating Derbyshire 6-0 and North Wales 6-0. Next up they played against Isle of Man, we went 2-0 up winning at 3 and 4. Isle of Man struck back winning at 1 and 2, making it 2-2 after singles. Isle of Man won at number 1 doubles, and we won at number 2 doubles, which meant it went down to a match shootout. Seb and Jack were put together in the shootout, the boys were excellent and won the shootout to give Cheshire the victory! The last match was against Hereford & Worcester, the boys were sharp from the start winning the match 5-1. That last victory meant the boys won the group and qualified for the national finals on Sunday 21st April.
