It was a great achievement to have both our 18U Boys and Girls teams playing in the prestigious Group 1 for the Junior County Cup in Bath but they faced very tough competition in this highest group.

Girls' Team: Abi Redman, Eva Senior, Karina Kiss, Ruby Roberts, Jess Mclean, Elena Whalley, Susanna Thompson, Amy McMahon, and Abigail Yates

Results: v Yorkshire Lost 8-1, v Middlesex Lost 9-0, v Surrey Lost 6-3

Boys' Team: Oliver Hague, Ilias Hirani-Worthington, Alfie King, Rafael Kiss, Charlie Woods, Daniel Longshaw, Ronjay Roopesh and Jacob Popplewell

Results: v Middlesex Lost 5-5, v Surrey Lost 5-4, v Kent Lost 5-2

Despite the results, the matches were extremely competitive as was expected at this level. The great news is that Cheshire has a number of players with several years left in this age group and the experience of playing at this level will prove invaluable. Every member of the team played with passion and suppported their teammates on and off the court.  Their resilience was excellent in tough match situations and this will surely prepare the players well for next year. They certainly gave everything for Cheshire!
