When their old boiler was condemned. members at Hooton LTC feared that a social cuppa after their tennis was now out of the question. However, the place has been transformed with a grant from our Make A Difference Fund. "The renovation of the kitchen and boiler at Hooton LTC has breathed new life into the venue", said Richard Jackson, Welfare Officer, " We all love to play tennis, but the new facilities will encourage all members to spend more time at the club, to socialise and hopefully have a positive impact on everyone's wellbeing. We are extremely grateful to Cheshire LTA and the 'Make a Difference Fund' for their contribution".
As part of the Advantage Cheshire initiative, the Make A Difference Fund allows a grant of up to 75% of the cost of a project, up to a maximum grant of £3k. The grant can fund projects not directly related to playing tennis but will have a huge impact at the facility.
We've given grants for new patios, new doors, mini-tennis equipment, there are endless opportunities!
The Make A Difference Fund is managed through the Club Liaison team. A member of the team will meet with members of a club's committee to review exactly what is needed and how the County can help. Once the application form has been completed, the team aim to approve the request within a week so you know that you can go ahead with a grant for your project to really make a difference!
To arrange a meeting, please email the Club Liaison Chair Barbara Bloor bloorb@hotmail.com
The work at Hooton LTC shows that this grant really can make a differnce!
