Well what a weekend!

For the first time we think (well as long as we can remember), both our Boys and Girls 10U County Cup teams have topped their groups to qualify for the 10U County Cup National Finals in Sunderland from 7 to 9 June. 

The Girls had a short trip to Lymm with Captain Amanda Twigg and Vice-Captain Ed Rowland, while the Boys enjoyed the Bank Holiday weekend in Lytham St Annes with Captain Tony Green and Andrew Beswick. 

The Girls battled hard and deserved their clean sweep of victories beating Yorkshire 8-0, Durham and Cleveland 8-0, East of Scotland 6-0 and North of Scotland 8-0.

The Boys overcame a very strong Lancashire side 6-2 and continued that momentum, drawing with Northumberland 4-4 before a double defeat of the Scottish sides, beating North of Scotland 6-2 and East of Scotland 8-0.

So what happens now? The teams have qualified for the National Finals that take place in Sunderland from 7 to 9 June.  There will be 1 group of 8 counties per gender split into 2 x 4 county round-robin boxes with each county playing each other within their box and then the winner of Box A playing the winner of Box B to decide the County Champion, the 2nd place county in each box to decide the Runner-Up, 3rd place counties playing each other and the same with the 4th place counties.
