Our very youngest teams played in their first County Cup at the 8U event at The Shrewsbury Club on 22 April.

The boys played in the morning and the girls in the afternoon.

Boys' Captain - Toby Palin

Boys' Team - Keyaan Ali, Neel Atri, Ben Cliff, Seb Windas, Alfie Woods

Results - v Staffs Won 10-0, v Hereford & Worcester Won 9-1, v Shropshire Won 9-1

Some outstanding performances meant that the boys topped the group and WON the event! So could the girls rise to the challenge and match the boys' success?

Girls' Captain - Cerys Hughes

Girls' Team - Carmelita Awah, Isla Mayers, Poppy Mucha, Nyah Welbeck, Tacy Zhou

Results - v Staffs Won 10-0, v Hereford & Worcester Won 10-0, v Shropshire Drew 5-5

The result was 5-5 after doubles which meant they counted up the overall points won to determine the win - they had 83 and we had 80 meaning we lost this round and finished second overall.

Wow! So incredibly close to a clean sweep from Cheshire boys and girls. The supportive team spirit of these players was great to see and we're delighted with their results and hope that they will go from strength to strength on their County Cup journeys.
